Academics Introduction
The Master of Arts (M.A.) degree is a graduate level degree made up of 36 credit hours (12 courses) and a research project.
Students are required to attend four terms (each term consisting of 9 credit hours). A term of study consists of a 30 to 35 day period. There are two terms offered per year – June & November.
The Master of Arts in Missions and Intercultural studies introduces students to biblical, contextual, historical, and strategic foundations resulting in graduates who are informed and effective in the practice of ministering within one's own culture or across cultures. The program is designed to stimulate creative reflection on our changing world, and to equip church leaders and others to develop effective mission's strategies through which the church might redefine its purposes and methods.
The Master of Arts degree enhances the development of practical
ministry skills related to key issues, such as:
- A relevant theology for effective ministry
- An understanding of a contemporary world
- Planning and leading effective contextual ministry
- Cultural dimensions effecting global ministry
- Incarnational models for effective cross-cultural ministry
- Contextualization
- Ministry networking
ANTS' curriculum has been intentionally designed to cover fields within
the study of missiology; such as, mission theology, mission leadership, mission history, Christian anthropology, and mission strategy. All courses are couched in a Pentecostal perspective and approach.
